Emanuela Corduneanu is from Romania and arrived in the UK five years ago. She is studying Level 1 ESOL at Merton College.
Emanuela says: “When I came to London five years ago I could not speak much English. After the pandemic, I started to look for English courses and found one at Merton College. When I came to the College for the first time I was very impressed with all the staff and students. They are amazing people, kind and very polite.
I have made a lot of friends here from my ESOL classes, we are like a big family. My English is now very good because I have been taught by outstanding teachers. I would like to say Thank You to all the ESOL teachers and college staff for supporting me throughout my time here. Now I’ll be able to find my dream job and improve my independence."
