This week South Thames College has lent a helping hand to Wandsworth Arts Service as they prepare to launch their latest round of the ‘Create & Play Kits’ programme which will see art kits donated to over 4000 local children aged 6-10, who would not otherwise be able to access the resources.
The hope is that it will inspire many of them to get into art, and develop their creative skills, whilst on their school summer holidays.
To support this, South Thames College has provided over 40 desks and chairs for volunteers to use over the week to put the art kit packs put together.
Southside Shopping Centre has also very kindly provided free use of a current empty retail unit for the team to use as a workshop to create the packs.
This project is part of the College’s on-going commitment to back local community events, and further strengthens its ties with key partners Wandsworth Arts Service and Southside Shopping Centre.
