During the tour, the Deputy Mayor engaged with tutors and learners, discussing the challenges they face, their ambitions, and the exciting opportunities ahead.
Howard Dawber, Deputy Mayor for Business and Growth said: “London’s colleges play a crucial role in developing the leaders of tomorrow and driving inclusive growth in the capital by ensuring businesses have access to the skills they need.
“I was excited to visit South Thames College and see the excellent work being done at their state-of-the-art green energy and multi-skills centres in Wandsworth, which are helping Londoners to get good jobs in the green energy sector and supporting our transition to net-zero.
“I look forward to continuing to work closely with our partners in the Further Education sector and London Councils to deliver London’s Growth Plan and build a greener, more prosperous city for all.”
The day culminated in an Association of Colleges round table, attended by Principals and CEOs from Waltham Forest College, New City College, Lewisham College, South Thames College, Leyton Sixth Form College, WM College, Morley College London, HRUC Apprenticeships & Skills, and West Thames College.
