We are excited to announce the launch of Resilience Fortnight, a two-week initiative running from Monday 27 January to Friday 7 February, designed to teach students about building vital resilience skills. This engaging event will offer a mix of workshops, activities, and events tailored to support students in managing challenges, fostering personal growth, and preparing for future success.
Key Highlights of Resilience Fortnight:
Resilience Fair – Tuesday 4 February, 12pm
The centerpiece of the fortnight will be an action-packed Resilience Fair featuring a range of interactive and physical activities, including:

Punching Machine
Hula Hoop
Push Up Board
Battle Ropes
Double Dutch Skipping

These experts will provide valuable insights on resilience-themed topics and practical advice for maintaining wellbeing.
Specialist Workshops
Throughout the fortnight, a series of targeted workshops will be delivered directly to Tutor Groups by experienced trainers. Topics include:
Overcoming Exam Stress
Building Resilience for Future Steps and the Workplace
Coping with Strong Emotions
Understanding Body Image
These workshops aim to equip students with strategies to navigate personal and academic challenges effectively.
Morning Activities and Enrichment Opportunities
Fun resilience-themed morning activities will take place, such as ‘Play Your Cards Right’ and 'Battle Ropes', and relevant handouts/ literature will also be provided. At lunchtimes and for enrichment, there will be games hosted in the Enrichment Hub as well as friendly Pop Up Stalls on ‘Positive Thinking & Bouncing Back from Adversity’!
Resilience Fortnight reflects Merton College’s commitment to supporting student wellbeing and preparing them for the challenges of life, education, and work.
