The wonderful exhibition comprised a selection of work from Kingston College Level 3, Year 2 BTEC Art & Design students made since September 2024. The two assignments exhibited had the themes Urban Sounds and From Above. The Art & Design students worked in their chosen Pathway which included Fashion, Graphic Design, 3D Design and Fine Art. The students were encouraged to prioritise experimental image-making techniques over refinement in order to expand their experience and to give them a greater awareness of the possibilities of mixed-media image making.

Level 3 BTEC Graphic Design students also exhibited work from their recent brief, The World of Tim Burton, redesigning the promotional poster for the current exhibition at the Design Museum, in Kensington, Central London. Students were briefed on this project by the graphic designer, Susannah Perry-Green. Their design was also adapted into an Instagram advert. They visited the exhibition, as a group, to gather reference material and photographs to inspire their designs. Students experimented with typefaces, creative layout, clear information hierarchy and choice of imagery, with the final designs produced digitally using Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator. Susannah visited the Creative Industries Centre throughout the project to view the students work in progress and provide valuable feedback to each student.

Congratulations to all students involved and a big thank you to Aleksandra Bialkowska from Level 3 Art & Design for designing the poster.
