Carrie Smith, teacher at South Thames College has launched a book 'Time to Reign' sharing the experiences and stories of various female entrepreneurs, now a top seller on Amazon, we spoke to Carrie about her journey to enrepreneural success:
Where did the idea come from?
At Queens In Business Club we constantly celebrate female entrepreneurs and look for ways to reach women globally. With two of the Co-Founders being publishers it made sense to utilise what we have around us and create a book that women everywhere can access.
How did you meet your fellow authors / how did the group come together?
Six of the co-authors are the Co-Founders of Queens In Business Club; the other co-authors are existing members.
Please can you give us a taster of your success story shared in the book?
I share the ups and downs of leaving a 'normal' life to become a singer as a new mother of a six-month-old baby, and the personal and professional tears and triumphs (and more tears!) I went through when I started my first business.
How do you see the book helping women in business?
There are 16 inspiring stories from women of all backgrounds. It sounds cliché, but it's because it's true: every woman in this book has a different yet relatable story to tell. These women have experienced mental illness, domestic abuse, depression, homelessness as well as the usual difficulties that come with being a woman. Our message is that everyone can thrive, with the right mindset and the right people around you. The three pillars of QIB Club are Education, Empowerment, and Execution and the success of the book is a taste of what can happen when you make the decision to succeed.
What’s next for the team?
We have just announced our first ever live 2 day event here in London. We have 7-figure business owners and international celebrity speakers teaching women how they can start, build, and grow their business, no matter where they're at right now.
