Levi Roots, musician and founder of Reggae Reggae Sauce, delivered an inspirational online talk to Merton's Hospitality & Catering and Business students.

Speaking as part of Employability Week, Levi spoke about his life, including how his first opportunity to access education was at the age of 11 when he arrived in the UK. Levi stressed to students that they were privileged to have access to education. He talked about his passion for music and food and how he started by making his sauce from his kitchen and selling it at country fairs in the shire districts, until he was discovered by a BBC Producer who arranged for him to present his business idea on the hit show Dragon's Den. This led to the entrepreneur, Peter Jones investing in his business.

Levi's message was that anyone can succeed if they are resilient, put their mind to it and surround themselves with people they trust. Students were also entertained as Levi played his guitar and sang. An inspiring talk that was enjoyed by all and Merton College look forward to welcoming Levi to the college in the Autumn for a cookery demonstration.
