Across two days both Level 2 and Level 3 Hairdressing students competed in a competition as part of their course. Each student picked a theme and based their hairstyle around this. Each model was styled and dressed to match their theme. At the end of the competition each student presented their moodboard, model and hairstyle to their tutor and explained their reasoning for picking their theme, which will also be judged in a national Competition.
Ellie West, L3 Diploma in Hairdressing for Cutting and Styling Technicians commented "Having someone to work on gives me experience in a salon setting. I'm also familiar with these people on a daily basis. My clients are lovely and come in a a covid friendly space. I have regular clients who call and ask for me which has given me confidence. My theme is historical based on Grease the musical. My style today is Big, bouncy, puffy curls with a side and back slick."
Crystal Agacy, L2 Diploma in Hairdressing commented, "I chose to do a special occasion theme as there is so much you can do or decide from. The hairstyle I picked today was a simple half up half down style with a bun decorated with bridal pins and also decorated with glitter along the parting line. Today's competition has helped me in my course as it has inspired me and given me more creativity and experience in what I'm doing. It has also boosted my confidence."
