South Thames Colleges Group is delighted to have achieved Platinum Net Zero Standard as part of its road to net zero. This recognises the achievement of a 53.89% reduction of the College Group’s total carbon emissions since the benchmark period in 2018-19.
The Group is currently measuring and reporting on Scope 1 – Direct emissions owned or controlled and Scope 2 - Energy Direct Emissions and elements of Scope 3 - Other indirect emissions in value chain such as employee business mileage, the intention is to develop and broaden Scope 3 further through our work with a professional third party.
Although we recognise that there is still lots of work to be done, this a great start to our commitment to the Climate Action Roadmap and we would particularly like to thank our wonderful Facilities Team who are leading on this critical component of the Group’s strategy.
