Vitória Maria is 19 years-old and came to London from Brazil three years ago. She is studying ESOL Entry 3 as part of the 16-18 programme at Merton College.
Vitória Maria says: "When I came here from Brazil, I didn’t have any English skills at all. In 2022 I chose to study an ESOL course at Merton College. My experience has been very interesting and useful because it's enabled me to improve my communication, learn life skills and lots of other things that I’ll use for the rest of my life.
The College is like a second home for me, it's here that I feel confident to learn new things and talk to different people. There is the support available for everyone who needs it. My main teacher is amazing because, with her, I feel confident to talk about my plans, ask any questions or whatever I need. She teaches incredibly well and my English flows so much better thanks to her!
