BTEC Level 2 Creative Media student, Andreea Banu, is continuing her studies at Kingston College on BTEC Level 3 Creative Media. Andreea began her journey with us on our full time GCSE programme in 2022:
Why you chose BTEC and why you chose to study at Kingston College?
I chose BTEC Creative Media because it focuses on digital media and design, aligning closely with my interests and career goals. The practical, hands-on approach to learning in the BTEC programme piqued my interest because it allows for the direct application of skills and knowledge. The BTEC course focuses more on coursework, which I found preferable. Furthermore, I selected Kingston College due to its excellent record for offering high-quality vocational education and a variety of subjects for me to explore and potentially build a career in. Additionally, the location of Kingston College is convenient for me to commute to and from, making it a practical choice for my studies.
Your plans after you complete your course?
My plans after I complete my course are to go onto Level 3 Creative Media at Kingston College and further develop my skills in the field. I hope to do well in my BTEC course and gain valuable experience that will help me succeed in my future career endeavours.
Favourite part of your course?
My favourite part of the course was filming in groups and collaborating with my peers to create projects. It was a balance between having fun and learning new skills, which made the experience enjoyable and rewarding. You learn a lot from working with others and being able to bounce ideas off one another. I am excited to continue learning and growing in the creative media field.
Is College life what you expected? Have there been any surprises?
College life has been quite different from what I expected, but I have embraced the challenges and opportunities it has presented. It has pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me develop both personally and academically. I have also discovered new interests and passions that I never knew I had before. Overall, the college has allowed me to discover more about myself and my capabilities.
Any advice to those thinking about applying for your course?
My advice to those who are thinking of applying to my course is to come in with an open mind and a willingness to collaborate with your teammates. Embrace the opportunities for growth, and don't be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone.
Any amazing tutors or met great new friends?
I have met exceptional teachers at Kingston College who have provided valuable guidance and support throughout my academic journey. I am thankful for their encouragement and dedication to helping me succeed. At Kingston College, I have gained so many new friends who have supported me and made college life even more enjoyable. The sense of community at Kingston College is truly special and has made my college experience unforgettable.
