South Thames College hosted an Employability Week for our students. Several employers visited the college and delivered talks and guidance on careers in their sector, routes into employment after study, and the main employability skills they look for in staff.
A visit to Bugler Development construction site was organised for our Level 1 & Level 2 Skills in Construction learners. The visit included a comprehensive induction session led by the site manager, focusing on crucial aspects such as Health and Safety protocols, the intricate construction processes and the diverse array of trades, subcontractors, and staff involved in the project. Moreover, the site manager offered valuable advice on interview preparation, shared insights into daily practices on-site and highlighted avenues for getting involved in work experience. It was an enriching experience that provided our learners with practical knowledge and invaluable guidance for their future endeavours in the construction industry.
