The Committee of South London Principals (COSLP) held their annual Best Learner and Teacher Awards on Thursday 25th May at the House of Lords to celebrate their very best learners and exceptional teachers.
Best Teacher Carshalton College: Robert Shepherd
Robert Shepherd has been a lecturer at Carshalton College for over 7 years.
He is a valued member of the School of Creative and Commercial Industries and has recently been promoted to Team Leader taking on additional responsibilities including now overseeing the Beauty Department. This was in recognition for his diligent practice, stepping in and looking after the students. especially in the post-pandemic era we now find ourselves in.
To best prepare himself for this, he is also studying in the evenings for a Level 2 in Counselling at our sister campus, Merton College. This is equipping him further to support the learners and the additional emotional challenges that all students are facing.
As well as all of these responsibilities, Rob is an excellent lecturer who works hard with students, ensuring that they are on track and reaching their full potential so that when they graduate from Carshalton College after their Level 3 courses, that they are ready for the workplace or prepared for university.
