BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Music Industry Skills
BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Music Industry Skills is aimed at students who perform and/or compose music and are looking to further their musical experiences in a variety of ways. It offers the opportunity to gain experience in music production including Music Sequencing and arranging. Alongside the course you will be able to retake those all-important English and Maths GCSEs.

Entry Requirements
We will invite you to a Meet the Tutor event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.You will provide a copy of your last school report and / or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other. This is to ensure we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course.
4 x GCSE's at D/3 or above, or a Level 1 Diploma in a relevant subject.
Your GCSE profile must include either maths and / or English , or a Functional Skills qualification in maths and / or English.

Course Content
You will perform and/or produce music and further your musical studies and experiences in a variety of ways. The course offers the opportunity to gain a wide range of musical skills including Performance, Music Theory, Music Production (Recording and Sequencing) and the Music Business. if required your programme will include GCSE English and Mathematics. -
Progression Next Steps
Students who successfully complete the course to Merit standard can gain entry to one of the Level 3 qualifications offered at the College. However, some students progress directly onto a career in the music industry. This course provides a wealth of opportunities for developing transferable skills and students will find employment in a wide range of career areas where musical competence and technical knowledge, combined with an understanding of the industry, are seen as vital employee characteristics.There are lots of opportunities available to you to progress across the South Thames Colleges Group and into the world beyond education.
