Access to Higher Education Diploma - Midwifery (Evening)
An alternative route to University or Higher Education for students aged 19+ who have been out of education for at least a year, Access to Higher Education Diploma - Midwifery is designed to give adult students who may have left school early or have been out of education for a number of years the opportunity to develop academic skills, confidence and knowledge before applying to university.
This is an intensive course of study and will require a high level of commitment from the student, a minimum of 90% attendance plus several hours of self study in your own time, and the successful completion of 45 Level 3 credits and 15 Level 2/3 credits.
The Access to HE Diplomas at Kingston College are nationally recognised qualifications and are awarded by The Open College Network London Region (OCNLR).

Course Content
The core subjects for Midwifery are Midwifery Studies with 7 units of Biology and 5 units of Sociology to complete . The remainder of the programme is comprised of Study Skills which are designed to provide all students with essential skills underpinning learning on the course and in undergraduate study for example note-taking, research methodologies and report-writing skills.This course requires excellent time management, maturity of approach and a high level of commitment throughout the year. Students will be supported in their studies and UCAS application through a weekly tutorial session..
