L3 - Diploma in Complementary Therapies (VTCT) 19+

No Prior level 2 or Level 3 qualification needed. You will need to be an adult aged 19 and over and ideally have 3 GCSE grades C/D to include English language or be able to demonstrate that you are able to work the required level 3 standard. Previous knowledge of human biology is ideal or keen interest in the subject. You will need to have a mature, professional and focused approach to learning with good interpersonal skills. Acceptance on the course will be subject to attendance/ interview with your Tutor.

You will provide a copy of your last school report and/or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other to include attendance. This is to ensure we can support to be able to achieve well on the course. Applicants with 85% or below attendance will have been deemed not to have met this criteria. All applicants are given an opportunity to discuss any evidence based mitigating circumstances that may have affected the reference/school report.

The Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies provides progression opportunities to specialist complementary therapy qualifications at Level 4. Alternatively, you may wish to seek employment or self-employment as a:

• Complementary therapist

• Aromatherapist

• Reflexologist

• Massage therapist/practitioner

Job opportunities may include:

• Working in commercial complementary therapy clinics

• Working in a commercial spa or salon

• Working in the NHS in hospitals and care homes

• Working independently/ self-employed/ mobile/ home-based settings

The programme commences in September and continues for one year . The fees for this course is £4670 Some units may be delivered through distance learning & online support. There is a requirement that a period of work experience is undertaken during this course, in related industries.

To achieve this qualification, you must carry out and document evidence of the following case studies:

• Provide body massage for complementary therapies: You must carry out and document evidence for at least 30 treatments

• Provide aromatherapy for complementary therapies: You must carry out and document evidence for at least 60 treatments

• Provide reflexology for complementary therapies: You must carry out and document evidence for at least 100 treatments
