The UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Technical Theatre for the Creative Industries has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to work in the production arts industry. The qualification is a one-year fast track into employment and will also open up the possibility of further progression with Higher Education. This qualification is successfully recognised as preparing students for progression into employment, and is endorsed by the following employers:

- White Light
The course is validated by the prestigious University of the Arts London (UAL) and is free for most 18 year olds who have at least 3 years residency in the UK.

Introductory Course Info HE
The course is made up of the following units:Unit 1 - Establishing Principles of Technical and Production Practice This unit will equip you for the workplace with a theatrical/performance environment.
Unit 2 - Applied Professional Practice This unit further develops and refines your professional skills.
Unit 3 - Professional Development Project This unit provides you with the opportunity to take control of your own professional development, initiating, establishing and completing a production project.
Learners must complete all three units to achieve the qualification.

Entry Requirements
The qualification is appropriate for learners wishing to continue their education within a professional context. There are no age restrictions for this qualifications, although learners are usually expected to be 18+ when they start, with most having previously completed A-Levels, Level 3 Extended Diplomas or a relevant apprenticeship. -
Course Content
This course is suitable for learners who have an interest in production arts (within the theatre) or a related subject who wish to explore and extend this interest via an immersive, practical learning environment.The qualification can be used as a starting point for learners who have identified a specific career in the performing arts industry and wish to pursue careers such as:

Teaching and Learning
You are taught through a combination of hands on practical workshops, live events and lectures. In addition, you have timetabled meetings with your Personal Tutor. You will use industry-standard equipment and have regular access to the ACT Theatre and library facilities throughout your course.When not attending timetabled sessions, you will be expected to continue learning independently through self-study. Typically, this will involve ACT Theatre maintenance, working on individual and group projects, undertaking research or preparing coursework assignments and presentations. A range of excellent college facilities support your independent learning.
Overall workload consists of taught class hours, independent study, and assessment activity.
