Access to Higher Education Diploma - Art & Design
The Access to HE Diploma - Art & Design is designed for adults aged 19+ who are aiming to progress onto undergraduate and higher diploma courses. Day time study is approximately 10 hours delivered over two to three days a week, although this is subject to change each year. It is strongly advisable, but not essential, to have GCSEs in English and Mathematics at grade 4 or above before undertaking an Access Diploma. If you do not have these qualifications, we aim to give you the opportunity to study them at Kingston College alongside the Access course.
Please note that it is the responsibility of the student to ensure their current and future qualifications comply with the entry requirements of any university to which they intend to progress.

Course Content
The Access to Higher Education Diploma - Art and Design will introduce learners to the breadth of disciplines across art, design and craft areas. Learners will participate in both theoretical and practical workshops that will enable them to assemble an effective and personal portfolio to support applications and progression to higher education courses in a wide range of art and design subjects. Specialist workshops include fine art, printmaking, 3D design, graphics and textiles as well as contextual modules looking at art and design from 1900 through to present day.Take a look at https://stcg.ac.uk/access-to-art-design-and-foundation-diploma-art-design-at-kingston-college for an informative series of videos by students following an exhibition titled Transforming the Everyday. Access and Foundation students explain the concept of their project, what inspired them, the techniques they have used, what they've learnt and how they're developing as artists.
