Key Facts

Full Time GCSEs

On this pathway you will be able to study either 4 or 5 GCSE subjects, depending on your academic profile. We offer 9 GCSEs: Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, Media Studies, Physics, Psychology and Sociology. Please see the detailed subject information on our website. Each GCSE is taught for 4 hours per week.

You will have a personal tutor who supports and guides you through the course and you will meet with your personal tutor for group meetings and personal 1-2-1 meetings on a regular basis. Some subjects have field trips for which a charge is made but we have systems for offering financial help. This course is for school leavers aged 16-18 and is a full-time programme of study. You will be given your personalised timetable at enrolment.

  • Entry Requirements


    We will invite you to a Meet the Tutor event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

    You will need to provide a copy of your last school report and / or a reference from an employer or relevant professional. This is to ensure we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course.

    In order to determine which GCSE Pathway is most suited to you, we have identified key entry criteria for each pathway.

    4 x GCSEs at D/3 or above, or a Level 1 qualification in a relevant subject. Your GCSEs must include either Maths and / or English.

  • Progression Next Steps


    During your time with us you will have access to a dedicated team of careers and education advisors who will help you as you take the next steps towards achieving your goals.

    There are lots of opportunities available to you to progress across the South Thames Colleges Group and into the world beyond. At Kingston, the progression route from this qualification would be to progress onto our A level Programme, or into a BTEC Level 3 qualification.
