Access to Higher Education Diploma - Nursing

All students are expected to have English Language GCSE grade-C/4 OR the equivalent (not functional skills level-2) before partaking on the course. If you do not have GCSE Maths at grade C/4 you may be given the opportunity to study this alongside your Access programme to achieve a grade 4 or above.

We will invite you to a Meet the Tutor event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Please note that it is the responsibility of the student to ensure their current and future qualifications comply with the entry requirements of any university to which they intend to progress.

You will provide a copy of your last school report and/or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other to include attendance. This is to ensure we can support to be able to achieve well on the course. Applicants with 85% or below attendance will have been deemed not to have met this criteria. All applicants are given an opportunity to discuss any evidence based mitigating circumstances that may have affected the reference/school report.

Students who successfully achieve the Access Diploma are then eligible to apply for a degree in Nursing or a Degree-Level Nurse Apprenticeship. Other degree courses in professions related to Health and Social Care may also be applied for.

One year, two days a week in college: Monday and Tuesday 10.00-17.00.

The Access to HE Diploma in Nursing course is extremely popular and applicants are advised to apply early. Please be aware that if you do not meet Home Student Residency status, you will be charged at the higher level fee. You may be eligible for help with fees and/or childcare, depending on your circumstances.

Access to HE Diploma - Nursing is taught at Kingston College so is ideal for those based in South West London and Surrey.

This course is not available to students who require a visa to study in the UK. Students who have qualifications from abroad and need a recognised English language qualification can take an IELTS test.
