Access to Higher Education Diploma - Media Studies
The Access to Higher Education Diploma - Media Studies is designed for adults (19+) who have been out of full time education for some time and are aiming to join university or higher education courses. The course is modular and therefore flexible enough to fit around your work and/or family commitments. Day time study is spread over two days and is approximately 12.5 hours of study per week.

Entry Requirements
We will invite you to a Meet the Tutor event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.A satisfactory reference is required from an employer or relevant professional other, in order to further progress the application. This ensures we can support you to achieve, on the right course for your skills and ambitions.
Candidates are required to have GCSE English Language at grade C/4 or above or English Functional Skills Level 2.
If you do not have GCSE Maths at grade C/4 you may be given the opportunity to study this subject alongside your Access Diploma.
Please note that it is the responsibility of the student to ensure their current and future qualifications comply with the entry requirements of any university to which they intend to progress.

Course Content
The media route of the Access course will be a mixture of academic and practical content. Students will work on still photography and video production, producing a range of artefacts, including documentary and single camera drama. In addition, this work will be fully contextualised by relevant media and cultural theory. -
Progression Next Steps
Students can progress on to a wide range of undergraduate courses in film and TV production, journalism, marketing and PR. -
