Sector related qualifications at Level 3 to include NVQ Level 3. GCSE's in English and Maths at Grade 4 or above. Each application is assessed individually in line with current qualifications and relevant experience. A suitable reference. All students will need to hold an Enhanced DBS check.

Successful completion of Level 4 HNC can create employment opportunities in fields such as counselling, rehabilitation support, social services, community development and family support. Subject to excellent attendance and recommendation from the course tutor students may progress onto the Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Social and Community Work Practice with Children, Young People and Families.

Students on this course are required to undertake work placement in two different settings for a minimum of 200 hours to develop social and community work skills. All students will need to hold an Enhanced DBS check. The College will provide this for you.

Attendance at College will be on Mondays and Thursdays with an additional placement day.

Students are required to apply their knowledge to a variety of assignments and activities with a focus on the holistic development of practical, interpersonal and higher-level thinking skills. A range of assessment methods may include portfolio's, written tasks, observations, peer reviews and presentations. The practical demonstration of skills is necessary for other units and students will need to carry out their own research and analysis working independently and part of a team.
