South Thames Colleges Group welcomes applications from all suitably qualified students. Each application is considered individually, taking into account grades already achieved, predicted grades, the personal statement, and reference, which are all important parts of the application.
- Offers made via UCAS
Many of our undergraduate course entry requirements are shown in terms of UCAS points – particularly where a course does not require certain qualifications/subjects.
The amount of UCAS points required will vary, depending on the subject. Up-to-date information can be found on individual course pages.

- Additional Entry Requirements
South Thames Colleges Group will only give unconditional offers where an applicant has already met the entry requirements.
Generally, offers will be conditional on certain qualification results such as A-Levels, BTECs, etc. There may be cases where work experience can be considered a suitable alternative where an applicant lacks relevant qualifications. Some courses may require English and Maths GCSEs at C/4 or above.
Courses in the health and education subject areas may have their own additional entry requirements, such as DBS checks.
Please check individual course pages for specific requirements. These will also be made clear when an offer of a place is made.

The College Group considers applications from those with a wide range of qualifications that attract UCAS points. These can either be single qualifications or a combination of several.

Some undergraduate courses require a pass at C or above in specific GCSEs or equivalent Level 2 qualifications. Since the summer of 2017, GCSEs are graded from 9 (highest) to 1 (lowest) instead of A to G, however GCSEs graded in the previous system are still accepted.
Applicants will need a 4 (C) or higher for courses with GCSEs as part of the entry requirements. If you do not have GCSEs, the College will accept Level 2 credits from accredited Access courses.
O-Levels sat in, or after, summer 1975 must be at grade C or above. CSE grade 1 is accepted as equivalent to GCSE at grade C.

- Higher National Certificates (HNCs), Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) and Foundation Degrees (FdAs)
Generally, applicants will be required to have at least 32 UCAS points, inclusive of at least one full level 3 qualification (A2 level or equivalent).
- Direct admission to year 2 or 3
We will consider applications to the second or third year of degree courses from suitably qualified applicants. Applicants should apply through UCAS indicating for which year of entry they wish to be considered.A transcript from your current/previous study is required.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL relies on the provision of evidence of learning by way of certification from another university or college. Applicants will need to provide appropriate documentation including transcripts, certificates and details of the awarding body.This process may enable you to build directly on your existing learning if you are choosing a programme of study within the same discipline. Applicants should apply via UCAS.
