Our Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance Service offers a client-centred, confidential, impartial and accessible service, delivered by professionally qualified staff. We serve clients of all ages and meets the needs of our learners. All the advice, guidance and help that we offer is available not only to current students but also to students who attended our Colleges up to twelve months ago.

• Career Planning

  Advice to help you make those vital decisions about steps to take on the road to where you deserve to be. Whether that is guidance on which courses you might take or alternative for those who want to make a change, we can give you all the help and information you may need.

  To assist you in making important decisions about future careers and what subjects, courses and training you can do to reach your career destination, when you join the College as a student you will  have access to Kudos an online careers programme.

  For students progressing onto higher education the Careers Service can assist you with choosing the right course for you at university, completing UCAS application forms, writing personal statements, mock interview preparation and student finance.

  Whether you are looking for a part-time job to help your finances while you are studying, or a full-time job using your qualifications, we can support you into employment. We can help you with building your CV and how to present yourself to future employers, both at initial contact and through to interview stage. • Apprenticeships

  As an apprentice, you're employed to do a real job while studying for a formal qualification, usually for one day a week either at a college or training centre. For students aiming to enter the world of work via an apprenticeship after completing their course, the Careers Service offers support in searching and applying to apprenticeship opportunities from intermediate to higher/degree level. Students can access the regular apprenticeships bulletin downloadable from the Careers Moodle page.

• Volunteering and Gap Years

  Volunteering is a great way to enhance your employability skills, gain valuable experience within the world of work and to contribute to your community. • Parents and Carers

  We recognise that parents and carers play an influential role in supporting their child to make important decisions about their education and future career. Parents/Carers are welcome to contact the Careers Service and attend meetings if this is appropriate. At Parents’ Evenings you will have the opportunity to discuss with Careers Advisors your child’s next steps.
