The course promotes independence, communication and social skills training and is designed to prepare learners for progression onto mainstream courses, supported internships or into employment. IT, literacy and numeracy are embedded throughout the curriculum, with the expectation that students take nationally recognised qualifications to support their progression. Work experience takes place with employment partners in the local area.

Topics may include: Horticulture; Agriculture; Running an Enterprise; Catering; Rights at Work; Health and Safety; Communication in the Workplace. Assessment is completed via a portfolio of evidence, which may include observation, Q & A, Practical or written assessments. Functional Skills assessments will take place throughout the year as appropriate to the individual. -
