L1 Award in Preparing to Work in Schools

You will be required to have an Interview and English assessment. You need to have a minimum of Entry 3 level English and writing skills sufficient to enable you to undertake the course.

Progression from this course is on to a level 2 Teaching Assistant Course. However, please be aware that you will be required to take an interview for the level 2 course and progression is dependent on your success at interview.

This programme is made up of 3 courses which are linked:

'Introduction to Teaching Assistant' Level 1, 'Award in Preparing to work in Schools' level 1 and 'Work Skills' Level 1

You need to complete all 3 parts of the programme.

Classroom assessment will take place throughout all sessions with tasks and activities and classwork to check your learning.

The summative assessment will be a completed portfolio of work which will be assessed by your teacher and verified by an external assessor.
