Employability Skills - Job Search & Interview Skills

Finding a job and preparing for interviews can feel overwhelming—especially if you haven't done it in a while. This beginner-friendly course helps you take the first step. You'll learn how to search for jobs, understand what employers are looking for, and practise interview skills in a safe, supportive setting.

Whether you're applying for your first job, re-entering the workforce, or exploring new opportunities, this course will help you feel more confident and prepared.

This course is suitable for learners working at Entry English and IT and above. It's ideal for job seekers, adult returners, ESOL learners, and anyone looking to improve their employability. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to learn and take part.

You could take other professional skills courses at the College to help your employability and build your confidence.

NOTE: If you have not used the college computers this academic year, you will need to set-up MFA (Multi Factor Authentication ) to use the College computers. Please bring your mobile phone to class to support the process.

Assessment is informal and based on participation and practical tasks. Learners will:

*Complete a simple job search activity using real or sample adverts

*Prepare and practise answers to common interview questions

*Take part in mock interviews with tutor and peer feedback

There are no exams. The focus is on building confidence and developing usable skills for real-life job applications.
