Certificate in Employability Skills Level 1 - SEPTEMBER
The employability skills course focuses on the essential study skills for the workplace and personal development as well as English and Math so afterwards you will be ready to progress onto a higher level course with us and specialise in a subject of your choice.
We will support your personal development through the acquisition of employability skills and knowledge on different areas. You will also have the chance to undertake work experience opportunities as part of your programme of study. This will provide you with invaluable experience of what it's like to work in a related industry of your choice.

Entry Requirements
We will invite you to a 'Meet the Tuto'r event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.You will provide a copy of your last school report and / or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other. This is to ensure we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course.
Don't have any formal qualifications?, let us know and we can assess you to ensure you will be able to achieve well on the course. It is essential however you are able to communicate well, work independently and in groups and work with potential employers out in your industry of choice. As a Level 1 course you will need to have had formal education in Maths and English and be working on a Level 1 at the point of joining the course. (This is below the level of GCSE's so if you have not gained grades in your GCSE exams we will assess you on-site in your interview and ensure you meet our entry requirements before enrolment.

Course Structure
The course comprises of a number of unit development to up skill you in many areas of personal and professional development. You will be assessed in-class and through project work and group work in some cases. -
Assessment Details
You will be assessed through assessment booklets and a portfolio of work that you will build up over the duration of the course. For your English and Math you will have homework and exams. You will also need to undertake at least 35 hours mandatory work experience.
