L3 Certificate in Coding Practices (NCFE)

This course is designed to give you an increased understanding, knowledge and skills in coding (programming) and is ideally suited to those who would like to work in coding. You will gain knowledge as to the different stages of software development and methodologies. You will learn about coding principles and design, how to fix coding 'bugs' and prevent them from reoccurring.

This qualification may be eligible for funding.

  • Entry Requirements


    You will need a level 2 in maths and English. A level 2 in digital skills or an IT related qualification would be advantageous.

    Prior to enrolment, you will take a short assessment and have a chat with your tutor.

    There are 5 mandatory units that you need to complete:

    • Coding requirements and planning
    • Understanding Coding Design
    • Implementation of Coding
    • Software Testing
    • Understanding Deployment, Maintenance and Configuration Management
  • Assessment Details


    You will create a portfolio of evidence which is internally assessed by your tutor.
