Hand Knitting & Crochet - Professional Skills: Pattern Design & Pattern-Making

A design led course for those with some experience of hand knitting and crochet. You will be guided through more advanced techniques and the process of translating your ideas into a pattern.

If you are on a low wage, unemployed or claim Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA) then you can enrol on the course for free.

  • Course Content


    At the end of the course you will be able to:

    • Knit in rows using at least two stitches

    • Knit at least one cable stitch

    • Increase and decrease stitches for shaping

    • Join seams and use different finishing techniques

    • Identify techniques and use technical language

    • Design and make your own simple project

    • Have the opportunity to share skills and ideas.
