T Level in Science
This is a new two-year full-time course designed in collaboration with employers, suitable for post 16 students looking to develop both knowledge and practical skills in the Science sector. This T level is designed to give you the knowledge and understanding of contexts, concepts, theories and principles in regard to science.

Entry Requirements
5 GCSE grade 4-9 including English and Maths (or equivalent) Plus all 3 separate sciences eg, Physics, Biology and Chemistry or combined Science at Grades 4-9.We will invite you to a Meet the Tutor event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
You will provide a copy of your last school report and / or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other this will include attendance. This is to ensure we can support to be able to achieve well on the course. Applicants with 85% or below attendance will have been deemed not to have met this criteria. All applicants are given an opportunity to discuss any evidence based mitigating circumstances that may have affected the reference / school report.

Course Content
All students will develop a general understanding of health and science: Working within the health and science sector. Health, safety and environmental regulations. Managing information and data. Principles of good scientific and clinical practice. Core science concepts including the structure of cells, tissues and large molecules, genetics, microbiology and immunology. They will also learn about topics specific to science: Understanding the science sector. Further science knowledge, including cell cycle and cellular respiration, enzyme and protein structure, pathogens, classification of biological materials, kinetic changes and relevant analytical techniques. Scientific methodology. Experimental equipment and techniques. Ethics of science. -
Progression Next Steps
Due to the high-level academic nature of the T-Level and the considerable industry placement element totaling a minimum of 315 hours, you will also have the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviors to successfully progress directly into a specialist area of the science industry, or you can progress to an apprenticeship or higher level study.Example job roles include:

Course Structure
You will spend 80% of the course in your learning environment, gaining the skills that employers need. The other 20% is a meaningful industry placement, where you put your learnt skills into action. -
Assessment Details
In the first year you will be expected to complete two core knowledge paper-based exams and an employer-set project which contains controlled assessments. In the second year, you will complete an occupational specialism assessment to allow you to demonstrate your application of the relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the occupation.
