Excel - The Basics

This course is part of our non-accredited offer Essential Digital Skills Offer, designed to support you to become a competent user of Microsoft Excel.

Please note that if you are new to Digital Skills, we suggest you first complete our Essential Digital Skills Programme. This will enable you to build a good foundation, help you become confident in using digital devices and other relevant software programmes linked for this course.

    Excel – The Basics is aimed at those have a very little of no knowledge or skills in using Excel. This course has been designed to enable you to learn the main functions of Excel, where you need it for work or everyday life.

    What is needed for the course: You can bring your own laptop, tablet or a Smart phone if you wish. We will provide you with a desktop or a laptop in our classroom.

    Please bring a notebook and a pen as there will be lots of note taking.

    By the end of this course, you will be able to:

    • Create simple spreadsheets to present relevant data • Use built-in formulas to perform basis mathematical operations • Present your data in a visual way using charts
