Getting Started With Pilates
The class is suitable for beginners as well as those who may have previously practised Pilates, and for all levels of fitness as it is a gentle low impact form of exercise. Although you should be able to get on and off the floor for mat based exercises.

Course Content
During your classes you will be introduced to the fundamentals of Pilates with the opportunity to progress and build upon any previous exercise to deepen the work. Each class will start with a focused skills session and work towards any goals you may have. During the course you will be guided through exercises for strength, mobility and stability, focusing on posture and alignment and encouraged to build on your knowledge gained week on week, and be challenged with progressions and offered modifications that are right for you.By the end of the course you should be able to identify how to work at a comfortable level for you, knowledge of the Pilates classical repertoire, working knowledge of how to improve posture and balance and use this in everyday functional movements

Learners have the option of enrolling for the Improvers Pilates Course or are very welcome re-enrol for the Beginners course or use their experience and knowledge in a new area of sport, wellbeing and fitness -

Assessment Details
The tutor will work with you to help and support you by offering feedback and corrections. There is always the opportunity to speak with the tutor individually as well as share ideas, motivation and ask any questions with the group.There is no work set outside the course, but you will gain the most out of the course by regularly practising Pilates exercises.
You should be able to follow verbal instructions, and observe and copy physical movements.
