L1 BTEC Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies (Pathway)
Pathway into level 1 is designed to prepare learners for progression onto mainstream courses level one courses. IT, literacy and numeracy are embedded throughout the curriculum, with the expectation that students take nationally recognised qualifications to support their progression. Work experience takes place with employment partners in the local area.

Course Content
Topics may include: Horticulture; Agriculture; Running an Enterprise; Catering; Rights at Work; Health and Safety; Communication in the Workplace. Assessment is completed via a portfolio of evidence, which may include observation, Q & A, Practical or written assessments. Functional Skills assessments/GCSE exams will take place throughout the year as appropriate to the individual. -

Course Structure
Students will participate in Foundation Learning lessons for 2 days a week. With up to one other day in mainstream vocational area. -
