Counselling Skills To Support Family And Friends Introduction

This course is for people who want to learn and practise a range of counselling skills, either for personal or professional reasons. This would include people working in teaching, in the caring professions or in organisations where client and customer service is important. Counselling skills can be equally valuable in personal, family and social situations.

    The course aims to: Increase the understanding of the counselling process and the skills involved. Achieve a good degree of listening skills to communicate with friends or family. Develop sensitivity and awareness about the process of change and growth. Introduce students to the major approaches to counselling and their philosophical and practical assumptions about the nature of humankind. Relate learning to students' own roles and work settings.
