This course will teach you how to make a variety of beautiful soft furnishings items for your home to a professional standard
Anyone with prior knowledge will be able to create more advanced soft furnishings such as interlined curtains and blinds, bed coverings, decorative cushions, lampshades and more.

Entry Requirements
This course is suitable for all levels, though some basic experience using a sewing machine is helpful. If you are completely new to sewing, you may wish to explore our Clothes Making courses first. -
Course Content
By the end of the course, you'll be able to:*Measure your windows accurately for blinds and curtains
*Choose suitable fabrics and estimate the required quantities
*Understand the processes involved in making both blinds and curtains
*Design and create a piped cushion cover with a neatly inserted zip fastening

Each session builds on the last, allowing you to develop your skills and confidence as you go. -

Teaching and Learning
Learning takes place through a mix of demonstrations, guided practice, and individual project work. You will have the opportunity to plan and create your own soft furnishing projects under the guidance of an experienced tutor.
