Hand Knitting & Crochet for All
A design led course for those with reasonable knowledge of Hand Knitting and/or Crochet. You will able to discuss your design ideas with designer Ruth Herring, who will then guide you through pattern making techniques.
Ruth Herring is a professional knit and crochet designer, pattern writer, author and teacher. She currently works with leading, award winning British designers creating knit and crochet prototypes for their runway shows.
If you are on a low wage, unemployed or claim Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA) then you can enrol on the course for free.

Course Content
At the end of the course you will be able to:Plan a design and discuss ideas with others Select yarns and use appropriate language for fibres and yarn weights •Identify techniques and use technical language Hand Knit or Crochet design swatches Measure a swatch to record tension Measure an existing garment or "toile" Draft a technical schematic diagram Draft a knitting or crochet pattern *Start creating your design!
