Clothes Making & Tailoring Skills

This intense and structured course will give you an understanding of different body types, and how to draft a shirt block to individual measurements. On this course you will draft a shirt block in a size 12 or to your individual measurements, cut and make up the toile for your shirt, and learn how to fit your toile, and make any alterations to your block. This will give you a perfect shirt block to fit your figure, and you then can style the block into any design you wish.

    Course Learning Outcomes:

    • Learn to take body measurements correctly.
    • Produce a basic shirt block to bespoke measurements.
    • Create a shirt block pattern which fit your figure and toile of your shirt.
    • Be able to create a pattern from a block with the correct seam allowance and markings.

    • Identify basic pattern cutting symbols.
