Introduction to Counselling and Therapy

If you have no previous experience of counselling, then this non-accredited course will give you a good foundation for further work and study. The course includes theory and practice including elements such as boundaries, listening skills and how to run a short counselling session. The skills you will develop can be used in work based settings or home.

  • Entry Requirements


    You do not need any experience of counselling as this course will give you the introduction you need.

  • Course Content


    As well as improving your communication skills, you'll learn about the three main psychological theories that underpin counselling practice : psychodynamic, person-centred and cognitive. You will also cover key issues in counselling like confidentiality, boundaries and non-verbal communication.
