This course is aimed at beginner/improvers and will provide you with a solid grounding in the core techniques of the guitar.

  • Entry Requirements


    No formal qualifications are required.

  • Course Content


    On this course you will learn:

    Notation; guitar tablature & chord diagrams

    Strumming Patterns (4/4 3/4, 6/8, shuffle)

    Open Chord, barre chords & Chords Extensions

    Linear & alternate fingerpicking patterns

    Songs which include core techniques

    Materials Please bring your own guitar, tuner, capo, plectrums, pen& paper. If using an electric guitar please bring battery-powered amp & lead. We are sorry but for safely reasons mains operated amps cannot be used

  • Assessment Details


    Tuition will be both group & one to one. Students will be advised how best to improve their technique.
