French - Beginner

This course covers practical topics that are useful when visiting or staying in a French-speaking country. You will expand your vocabulary, learn how to express opinions and preferences, and strengthen your ability to manage everyday situations during a short stay for leisure or professional purposes. You will practise taking part in short conversations with locals or friends while building confidence and improving your accuracy, fluency, and pronunciation. The course also reviews and develops essential grammar points, with some short writing tasks. We will also take virtual trips to France and other French-speaking countries, exploring French-language websites and cultural content online.   • Entry Requirements


    This course and the materials used in the lessons (handouts, videos, etc) are designed for beginners and students with basic knowledge of French.

  • Course Content


    By the end of the course, you will be able to: • Introduce yourself and provide basic information about your family and friends • Describe your daily routine, job, hobbies, and interests • Talk about places of interest such as cities and seaside destinations • Arrange meetings for work or leisure and invite others to events • Handle emergency situations, including explaining health-related problems • Organise travel plans and review transport options such as trains and flights • Speak about present, future, and past events
