Essential Digital Skills - Beginners
This course will build your confidence using a computer through guided step-by-step teaching. It will introduce you to the Essential Digital Skills Qualification. This course is part of our non-accredited Essential Digitals Skills offer, designed to support you build confidence and develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a competent user in the modern digital world.
NOTE: You will need to set-up MFA (Multi Factor Authentication ) to use the College computers. Please bring your mobile phone to class to support the process.

Introduction to Essential Digital Skills including:- Processing a documents in Microsoft office- how to create, save and print
- Learn the basics of how to use Microsoft Office apps
- How to use tools to edit your text such as spellcheck, cut, copy and paste
- How to format your document using page numbers, colour, tables, symbols, shapes, borders, images Word art, headers, and footers

Assessment Details
You will complete individual practical tasks in class using a computer. There will be class discussions to help you understand and share ideas, and you will do some work in pairs or small groups. There will be homework assignments where access to your own connected device eg. Laptop, PC, tablet or smartphone would be a benefit.
