Preparation for Childcare
This is a preparation course which runs remotely from 10:00 to 12:00 on a Saturday for learners to develop their English skills in listening and speaking, reading and writing in a childcare context.

Entry Requirements
You do not need any work placement arrangements to start this course. There is no initial assessment. -
Course Content
This qualification develops basic knowledge and understanding of the needs of young children, aged from birth to five years, based in a variety of settings. It also helps learners understand their role in supporting children's development. The qualification covers:- working with children
- nursery settings
- employability

Progression Next Steps
You can progress on to a Certificate in Childcare and in Understanding Mental Health First Aid in the workplace or be advised about a range of other courses offered by South Thames College. -
Course Structure
The course runs remotely once a week on a Saturday from 10-12pm. You will be sent a link to join this course once you enrol. -
Assessment Details
Classroom assessment will take place throughout all sessions with tasks and activities and classwork to check your learning.
