LE Clothes Making Advanced Skills

Broaden your sewing skills and let your creativity flow. Basic sewing machine skills are a pre requisite for this advanced Course. In this course you'll learn how to make clothes to a high standard, including couture techniques to make your projects unique and exciting. You are required to buy essential sewing equipment and a commercial pattern after discussion with your tutor.

If you're self-employed, you might be able to deduct your enrolment fee from your taxable income. If you are on a low wage, unemployed or claim Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA) then you can enrol on the course for free.

  • Course Content


    By the end of the course, you'll be able to:

    • Make clothes including tops, skirts, trousers, jackets and dresses, using advanced techniques

    • Choose appropriate patterns and fabrics for your projects

    • Know when and how to use advanced techniques, such as bias binding, French seams, jet and welt pockets, pleats and pin-tucks
