Floristry -L2 Certificate in Creative Craft (NCFE)

This Level 2 Certificate is a great all round floristry industry recognised qualification. If you are looking for a new career path or simply would like to expand your knowledge and improve your flower arranging, this course will help you significantly. You will create and develop designs for all occasions, learning various techniques to achieve commercial arrangements with confidence. You will also look at identification of fresh materials, seasonality and care plus develop a portfolio of your designs and associated evidence of the criteria required.

  • Entry Requirements


    No prior knowledge is required, however a keen interest in flowers, flower arranging is necessary. This course is also ideal for those who have completed a level 1 floristry qualification or have some floristry/ flower arranging experience. This course requires an initial assessment. The initial assessment allows us to identify if the course is right for you and understand any extra support you may need.

  • Course Content


    The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Floristry is ideal for students wanting to pursue a career within the floristry sector or for those wishing to expand and update their knowledge and improve their floral designs. We will focus on the skills and techniques required to produce commercial floral designs, bouquets and arrangements for various occasions and investigate working possibilities within the industry.

    On this course you will:

    • Watch a live demonstrations and create floral designs.
    • Learn how to correctly use floristry tools and equipment.
    • Learn various techniques and how to use sundries effectively.
    • Become aware of various flowers and foliage and their uses.
    • Look at opportunities, employability and enterprise skills.
    • Use design skills to create arrangements for various events.
    • Develop a portfolio of your work.
  • Progression Next Steps


    Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to employment or other Level 3 Qualification in Floristry.

Students will need to allow £15 per week approximately for the purchase of flowers and foliage however, this cost may be reimbursable via the college bursary.

    You will be required to successfully complete the 4 mandatory units below.

    • M/506/2674 Use materials, tools and equipment to develop craft techniques (3 credits)
    • K/506/2673 Investigate creative enterprise and employment opportunities (5 credits)
    • H/506/2672 Develop craft ideas (4 credits)
    • L/506/2679 Create, present and evaluate final floristry item (3 credits)

    Candidates will build a portfolio of evidence and will be assessed via practical assessments and assignments.
