Drawing for All - Draw The Human Form

This is a 5-week course working with a life model, aimed to accommodate and challenge all levels of experience. Classes will generally consist of a mixture of short and longer poses, with exercises to help improve observation and understanding of the form/pose.

  • Course Content


    Classes will generally consist of a mixture of short and longer poses, with exercises to help improve observation and understanding of the form/pose. Exploration and experimentation with a range of materials and approaches to the subject is encouraged, from charcoal and pastel to drawing with a brush. Content can be adjusted to students' preferences and interests and will be discussed with both tutor and model as part of the working process.

  • Additional Information


    What to bring for your first session

    Materials: Drawing paper A3 / A2 (cartridge paper, sugar paper for charcoal/pastel), willow charcoal, putty rubber, selection of graphite pencils + sticks and/or crayons, plastic eraser. Masking tape. Sketch book/pad. Some basic paper and charcoal will be available to use on the first week if you prefer to wait before buying any new materials. Please note You are likely to make 4-5 drawings in a session so may find you are using/need more paper than expected. Additional materials- white chalk, compressed charcoal, sketch sticks, carbon pencil, chalk pastels, oil pastels, ink and/or paints, brush(es) for ink/watercolour or gouache.
