This fine art courses is suitable for those who are starting with art as well as those who have some experience and skills. Whether you are considering art as a hobby to improve your wellbeing or would like to inquire into the possibility of becoming a professional artist, this course will enable to explore both.

This course will include a range of techniques suitable for painting with Acrylics. The course is suitable for Beginners and those with some experience who wish to develop their painting skills. You will also develop life skills for Mental Wellbeing, Social Wellbeing and confidence building

  • Course Content


    The course will hep you to learn and develop a range of different skills and techniques including using tone, composition and colour theory. You will draw and paint a variety of subjects including still life, landscape and portraits through structured exercises and more personalised projects as you gain confidence.

  • Progression Next Steps


    After completing this course, you may choose to continue developing your artistic skills by enrolling in another art course at the college. Options include Fine Art: Drawing and Painting or Watercolour – Beginners and Improvers. These courses will allow you to build on your existing skills, explore new techniques, and further develop your confidence as an artist.

    Please bring acrylic tube paints, (include a cadmium yellow, cadmium red, alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue, Prussian blue) brushes, acrylic pad/canvas/canvas board. Pencil for drawing, plastic eraser, putty rubber, masking tape, sketch/cartridge paper pad.

    There will be one-to-one teaching so your tutor can discuss your progress with you. You'll also complete a learning plan to track your work. We encourage you to show your work at the end of each sessions so you can discuss your work with your classmates.
