Art for All - Acrylic Painting
The course is for everyone regardless of ability or experience and will be tailored to suit individual's current levels. I especially welcome beginner artists and anyone that wishes to achieve a sense of wellbeing through creative activity and exploration.
Over the course of 10 weeks, you will take a deeper journey into the fascinating world of colour, exploring the principles that govern how colours work, interact, and create different visual effects. This course is designed to take you from understanding the basics to confidently applying your knowledge in creative ways. Whether you are new to painting or looking to build on existing skills, you will find a supportive environment where you can learn, experiment, and grow as an artist. We will combine theory with hands-on practice, ensuring that every concept you learn is put into action so you can see real progress week by week. This course is designed to be fun, inspiring, and low stress. There is no pressure to be perfect only to learn and enjoy the process. The results you produce will speak for themselves, showing just how much, you have grown in your understanding of colour and your ability to paint. By the end of the 10 weeks, you will not only have new technical skills but also a fresh confidence in your own creative potential.

Course Content
Course Aims To gain an understanding of basic colour theory and various painting techniques and apply these to experimental practise exercises leading onto a piece of finished artwork.Course Objectives To practise mixing colours, understanding how proportions of tones and colours together with the measurement of water can bring about different values of each colour as well as practising demonstrated painting techniques. This practical knowledge and understanding will then be utilised into a painting and style of your choice.

Course Structure
Learners will be given a tutor led demonstration about how to mix different tones and shades of a colour alongside a comprehensive overview of colour theory terminology to gain an understanding into the language used to describe the various aspects of art, therefore being able to utilise this to inform their creative practise. Learners will then can practise colour mixing and experiment with its many techniques and outcomes and then use this knowledge and practical experience in a painting of their choice. Worksheets and all art and colour theory information will be available for all learners to take away with them for future reference in paper or electronic form. -
Assessment Details
Your tutor will support you individually and as a group with an element of peer support in place too. Assessments will take place via one to one and group discussion, questions and answers, homework, research, critique of completed work and feedback forms.
