“Carshalton College was recommended to me by a friend who studied Creative Media here. I had previously studied Animal Mgt. but my real passion was Art. I applied and was invited in to come in and see the College and meet the tutors.
I had a good feeling about the course and tutors who were friendly and approachable and made me feel comfortable. I have really enjoyed these past two years. The techniques I have learnt such as printing and textiles have been enlightening.
The thing I have enjoyed the most is the being given the freedom to choose the topics and subject matter that particularly interests me which I feel has really developed my skills as an artist. The teaching and support I have been given has been really helpful and made college life much easier to adapt to.
We are currently doing work experience at a local primary school teaching Year 5s. Teaching is something I have always been interested in and I am hoping to pursue this as a career.
I have applied and been offered places in three London Universities, my first choice being the Courtauld Institute of Art. I plan to study a BA.(hons) Art History and Fine Art.”
