First Aid (Basic Life Support)

The First Aid (Basic Life Support) programme is designed to give you knowledge and understanding required to react quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.

The qualification is designed to be part of a suite of short courses and includes the following qualifications:

• First Aid (Basic Life Support) • Certificate in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace • Foundations for Learning and Life (Individual Learning Plan)

You will have the opportunity to built skills and knowledge to act in an emergency situation providing a casualty with critical life-saving assistance until support arrives. You will also gain an in-depth understanding of mental health and factors that can affect wellbeing as well as build confidence to step in, reassure and support an individual in distress.

  • Entry Requirements


    In order to be able to enrol for this course, you are required to meet the following criteria: • Be aged 19 or over • Have lived in the UK for the past three (3) years • Have achieved a Grade 4 (Grade C) or above in GCSE English, or a Pass in Functional Skills Level 2
