Maths Functional Skills Entry level

his course teaches practical maths skills for daily life and work, covering basic arithmetic, fractions, and percentages, as well as measuring, shapes, and data handling. The course builds confidence in applying mathematical knowledge to solve simple problems in familiar situations and prepares learners for further study or employment. You will cover topics like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, money, and interpreting simple graphs.

    You will be invited to attend an advice and guidance session before starting this course where you will be asked to do an Initial maths assessment.

  • Course Content


    What you will learn:

    Number skills: Basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), fractions, decimals, percentages, and money. Measure, Shape, and Space: Understanding and using units of measurement, calculating area and perimeter, and properties of shapes. Handling Data: Collecting, organising, interpreting, and representing data, for example using simple tables and charts. Problem-solving: Applying these skills to solve practical problems in everyday contexts.
